"Pidge, Tai, up!" She called, directing them to climb, "Now, down, as low as you can go without hitting the grass! Then hit the target!" She pointed at the sets of targets she had bought for her birds, which she had posted at random heights in random places. "First one to down all of them wins! You can only hit them when coming out of a dive!" She called as they flew.
"Pidge work on your aim! Tackle is important!" She yelled, scruitinizing their movements as they flew. Pidge needed to work on speed. Tai needed to work on accuracy. She contemplated having Drifloon go chase them, but then she shook her head. It was too windy. Boo would just float away. She sighed. Being a fan of all pokemon, and yet... having a baloon type... was not all that appealing. She shook her head, wondering whether Kyle would trade her for something. It's be nice. Maybe a marril, or- She shook her head, "Darn. I just pulled an Emery, drifting off like that.” She shook her head, she searched the skies, found that Tai had just knocked his third target down, and Pidge her fourth.
She did a double take and noticed that Pidge’s targets had taken eachother down. Two tackles had become four hits. She grinned, “Halt!” She cried holding up her fist. The birds flew to her and landed in their places on her shoulders. “Tai, you attacked three attacks and hit three. Good work. But it could have been better. Were you watching Pidge?” He shook his head. “She attacked two targets and hit four.” Saarda told her pokemon. “She used her mind, lined up her shot, and hit one which then hit another. Then she repeated the process. Very good thinking, Pidgey. Very good!” She nodded, “Tai, your aim is getting better, but you could benefit from her tactic. Remember that damage is done to your targets whether you hit them directly or with something else.” She said, then sent them both back into the skies for another go.

Tai was a little irritated. Pidge had gotten all the praise. He knew it was right, she had done well, but it still bothered him, so he flew even faster, pecked harder, and imitated her aligning tactics… but each time he hit a target, it was off. He cried out and fixated, trying to recreate her success, to no avail. It wasn’t long before she had finished, and he realized that he was left flittering about, low on energy and high on targets. “Return, Tai.” Saarda said quietly. Tai cringed at the disappointment he felt radiating from her. His wings heavy, he flew back to his trainer, who had sat, and was petting Pidge on her knee. She raised up the knee on his side, so he could perch and look at her. He had no choice save to land where she willed. “Tai… why didn’t you finish?” She asked. He knew she knew. Knew it the way he knew he was in for a lecture.
He leapt- metaphorically speaking- at the chance to explain himself, “Tai- Taillow Tai Taillow low tailow.”
“You were trying to do what?” Saarda asked, “Slow down. I didn’t get most of that.”
“Tai. Taillow low Tai.”
“You were upset, obviously… so, you were trying to do what Pidge did, then got frustrated, and missed?”
“Tai.” He nodded, a little ashamed of himself.
“Well, I did tell you to do it. But I also told you to remember your aim. Maybe I also should have said to keep moving… Next time, don’t worry so much. Let your instincts take over. Worries cloud your focus.” She said. “I could see you were trying very hard.” She encouraged, “You did a good job.”
Tai huffed a bit, and hopped up to her shoulder. “Taillow.” He said in a low, sad tone.
“Pidge Pidgey.” His teammate said in that low tone of commiseration.
“See?” Saarda said, “It’s OK. You both did very well. I’m proud of you.”

Saarda called a halt to training for lunch. She didn’t so much as blink when a few male nidoran and a Mareep ambled past. She smiled as a bellsprout came over to investigate the food, and decided to give it a few berries, which it took gratefully, and went on its merry way.
After that, she let her pokemon out. Boo attached himself to Maelon, who shrugged, too lazy to make the newest addition let go. Emery was romping around in the grass, thoroughly enjoying being out after a small period of pokeball captivity. He tried to draw Trish into a game of tag- which as everyone besides him knew- he would lose, but she was not interested in the slightest. “Trike.” She said, turning up her nose.
Emery stood there watching her for a moment, pawing the ground, indecisively , then with a wicked grin, the foolish fire type, lunged at her to bite her tail. Trish glanced at him, sparked a thunderwave, and paralyzed him just before his jaws closed around her green furry tail. “Ele Electrike.” She said standing and trotting to her trainer’s side, where she lay down and continued working on her pokemon food. Emery whined and waited for the attack to wear off for much longer than he thought should be necessary, then his jaws snapped down on the air where her tail had been, and he shook his head. “Grow.” He blinked, then he got down and tried sneaking up on his female counterpart. The seconds ticked by as he got closer… and closer. He went to lunge at her, and she- with a patient sigh, repeated her earlier solution, walked a few feet away, then ran forward and tackled him. After that she got back up and walked away. “Ele Electrike.” She scolded. When he unfroze and got to his feet he got down, his butt wagging in the air, and barked. Then he turned about and bolted into the grass, certain she would follow.
Unfortunately for him, Trish was not interested. He did, however, find another playmate, A Nidoran ♀. He had never seen such a creature. It was small, purple and… spikey. He balked at it, wondering if it was A) eatable. B) Playful. Or C) Grumpy, like Trish. He slowly moved forward, tail straight, eyes wide and curious. The nidoran♀ turned to him and puffed up. He was still three times bigger, but he paused, wagged his tail and then lunged at it. Nidoran♀ hissed, scratched his nose, and he jumped back whining and startled. “Growlithe!!” He barked.
Saarda stood up and looked for her pokemon, who was batting at the little nonpoisonous-as-of-yet poison type, with his paw. She facepalmed. “Emery! What do you think you’re doing?
His ears perked and he let out a happy bark at the attention, then growled at the little Nidoran♀. He wagged his tail intently.
“What- you are-“ She sighed. “Use Ember, then rush it for a bite!”
He spat fire at the little thing, which tried to run away at the sight of the fire, but he was quicker, and she was injured. He lunged forward and bit her, shaking her in his mouth, then he threw her up and let her fall to the ground. “Growlithe!” He barked, and lunged at her again as she tried to run away. “Grow!” He leaped over her and hit her with a flame to the face.
She cried out in pain and lunged at him with a powerfull scratch to the nose. He whimpered, backpeddling, pawing at his nose, which was bleeding a bit. “Such a whimp.” She chuckled, “Hit her again with an Ember. One more time should do it!” She cried.
He charged the flame without complaint and hit the nidoran♀ in the side. She keeled over and whimpered.
Saarda scratched her neck and wondered whether she should feel bad. She shrugged, and tossed the pokeball. “I’ll give you a nice pack of food after we go to the pokemon center to get you healed up.” She promised.

Saarda grinned, and patted her growlithe on the head as she went to pick up the ball, but oddly, it vanished. "What in the-" Her Pokedex began speaking from her pocket.
'Pokemon are automatically transferred to the box, when a trainer has more than six per party.' It said.
Emery went to sniff the ground where it was, then he sat down and sighed. His playmate- though just as grumpy as Trish, was gone. He missed her.
"Emery, you did a great job." She said, patting the puppy pokemon on his head. "I'm proud of you. Who's a good boy? Who's a good boy?" Emery wiggled and wagged his tail in happiness. "You are! Yes, you are!" She said rumpling his fur. "Good boy!" She scratched his shoulders, til he whined in happiness. Trish came up and nudged her hand asking for similar attention. "You're awesome too, Trish!" She giggled, "All of you are! I'm a lucky trainer." She sighed. "Lets go get this gal healed up, and take a gander at the grove. Maybe we can find something nice there."
