A long trip across the plains had left Zane, Red, and Sora tired and ready to collapse. Sora had been flying nearly the whole way and was already on Zane's back from fatigue. Ponyta had been doing the most work, as Zane had been riding her. He wondered what the other poke'mon were thinking safe inside their poke'balls. Abra wouldn't have moved probably, Caterpie could never have kept up; Pika either. And unless there was water nearby, Gorn would have never been able to even move. Thankfully, they had made it to the rest stop before sundown. It was small, but the Poke'center was like heaven. making their way inside, Zane gave his five filled poke'balls to the nurse and took Gligar to sit down for a rest. With a cup of water, they waited for their friends.
Soon after Zane moved outside to a watering hole the center provided for water poke'mon, releasing Gorn and the rest of his squad, they all relaxed until the sunset had passed and it was time to turn in. At least, that is what they planned to do...

Leave it up to Pika to get herself into trouble once again. The small mouse had bounded off to someplace nearby with Caterpie in tow; Zane was too tired to worry as he looked down at his healing hands. Ponyta emitted a short sound as to what Zane had determined to be an apology. She had been making quite a few of those ever since the incident inside of the cave despite her trainer assuring her it was okay being just an accident. Meanwhile, Abra was actually awake for once, looking up into the sky at the stars with Sora. Every so often, either of them would emit a sound of awe and wonder that kept Zane smiling widely. Saarda may have been more correct than he formerly believed. Just being out here with his poke'mon, Zane felt an incredible sense of happiness and correctness. And of course, Gorn was lazily floating along enjoying the cool water along his scales; he didn't get out as often as the others and thoroughly enjoyed his time outside often. As Zane admired this value of time, he began contemplating if there was a way to create a pool instantly out in the wild if he had to. But those thoughts would be cut short... After the sound of many cracking branches and cries from both Caterpie and Pika, Zane finally summoned the will to go see what was going on. They had gotten into a thicket that would have been hard for his other poke'mon to get through, so he shot Abra a small thought. "Keep these guys from wandering off, I'll be back." With no recognition, the trainer forced his way through painful branches until he found himself at the scene of the cries and cracking branches. He found his poke'mon teaming up against a wild poke'mon he had never met before. Pulling out his poke'dex, he scolded his poke'mon for being so unfair. "You two know better than to team up against other poke'mon! It's hardly sporting...now what are you..." he asked while Pika pointed to Caterpie accusing the bug of starting it. The worm's expression told Zane that Pika was lying, and then the onslaught of sounds that came from the poke'mon only assured him of that. "Pika, go back to the others. Caterpie and I have this under control." he ordered, and the yellow poke'mon huffed before scurrying away to the group by the poke'center. Zane lined up his sights and got this strange poke'mons information."All right Caterpie, he gotta be careful that you don't go to sleep! Now wrap it up in string shot!" he said with confidence. As the Drowzee moved forward to attack, Caterpie easily roll out of the way and shot it's string from it's mouth to cover the poke'mon in the tough material. Though it connected, the wild poke'mon was able to break free and jump at the unaware worm. "Look out!" he shouted. Caterpie turned to see what was coming and just barely made it out of the way, scurrying for cover in the brambles. "Oh come on, hit it back, tackle!" he dictated. "Keep at it till it goes down!" Caterpie dashed forward, it's speed greater than it's target and was able to avoid another pound and land a brutal tackle into it's side. The Drowzee swung wildly as it fell to a knee and reacquired Caterpie. Focusing carefully, it began to use Hypnosis. "Now hit it again before you go to sleep!" he cried. Caterpie ran at full speed, aiming toward the Drowzee's stomach to knock it to the ground. As it got near, the worm began to get woozy and began to wobble and it's hit only connected at half strength. "Well might as well try..." Zane mumbled and tossed a poke'ball at the Drowzee.

The way the poke'ball seemed to move was as if it were never going to stop moving. But soon enough, the grew still after the bead of nervous sweat rolled off Zane's cheek. With a sigh of relief, and the poke'ball warping away to an unknown place, the trainer hurried over to his woozy Caterpie with a wide smile. "You did great, cut it close at the end, but nothing we couldn't handle huh Caterpie!" he said putting his hand out in the air for a head five. His poke'mon cheered happily and headbutted his open palm before backing away strangely. "What's wrong Caterpie?" he asked, but it was too late for an explanation. In an instant Abra was by his side, and he could hear Pika and Sora coming over, leaving Ponyta and Gorn together. "What's happening?" he seemingly asked Abra. The yellow fox like creature only pointed to Caterpie who was spewing a string like fluid around itself...
In less than a minute the substance was hardening and changed color. "Evolution..." he said in wonder as Caterpie changed in his new form of Metapod. "Amazing..." he said approaching the shiny new form. "Hey there Cater-- I mean Metapod. Maybe we should get you a nickname... how about Trouble! You always seem to be involved in it. You brought me Ponyta and now Drowzee with your trouble maker tendencies." he smiled. His poke'mon merely looked at him. Then, a tug at his sleeve. Abra was nodding his head, as if for speaking for the unaudible Metapod. "Trouble it is! Come on, let's head inside and get some rest." he concluded and picked up Trouble, making his way back to his other poke'mon to show them what had happened.
